The Gift Of Hope

What is true hope and where do you find it? How do you define the hope that you are seeking and how does it motivate and move you forward? Hope should be a powerful force in your life, if your hope is in invested in the proper source. Where do you look for and find hope? Perhaps within yourself? What if you are bankrupt and have no hope. Maybe from someone else? What source of hope inspires them to speak hope into you? Could it be from a motivational speaker or writer? If these written and spoken words are empty, meaningless and contain no true longterm hope, I have great news for you! There is an eternal source for abundant hope. It is found only in a covenant relationship with God the Father, through Jesus Christ the Lord. Strong’s Greek tells us that the primary meaning of hope is to anticipate (usually with pleasure); expectation (abstractly or concretely) or confidence. Therefore, to have hope in and through Jesus Christ is to anticipate and expect with confidence that things are going to change for the better in your life. “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). God’s great gift of hope is waiting for you to receive it.
